Some broker data feeds, and certain installations of NinjaTrader, use a setting in NinjaTrader that does not work well with Logical Forex.

Even though your broker datafeed may give you "extended pip information", we need to make the charts display in full pips, and not "pipettes", nor "half-pips", nor "tenth-pips".

The critical parts of opening a new chart is using a "1-Range" timeframe, and applying the "Logical Forex Trading" template.

Make sure that you are connected to your datafeed, or your chart may be blank or not "move".

When you see a blank chart, it almost always means that you have not connected to the datafeed.

Make sure you connect to the datafeed, and if you still do not have any data on your chart, then you can Right-Click on the chart and select "Reload Historical Data". You may need to do this on each chart that you have opened.

In most cases, you can determine if you are in a good trading enviroment within 15-30 seconds. You don’t need to "draw any lines" or "review multiple time frames" or anything else similar. You may want to "zoom out" the chart to get an overall view of the market structure, but other than that, you can typically just glance at the chart, and determine liquidity and activity in the market (Logical Forex Activity Lines), the flow of the market (Logical Forex Flow Lines), and the decision points in the market (Logical Forex Magnet Lines), and truly know within seconds if you should be considering a trade or skipping a trade.

Our charts normally use the time zone in US Central. In some cases, they may be US/Easterrn, and we’ll mark those charts accordingly.

The best utility we have found for quickly converting time zones is http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

You can use any broker you wish. Logical Forex only uses NinjaTrader for charting. We do not trade "through" NinjaTrader, so you don’t need a license for NinjaTrader (meaning you can use their free version and their free quote datafeed).

Any datafeed compatible with NinjaTrader can be used. However, keep this in mind…

We use the datafeed recommended by TradePro Futures and Forex… so all of the charts you see that we have posted in the trade examples blog, and in all of the other trainng material, is based on that datafeed. It has proven to be a superior datafeed for most traders, and the one that we have used for years.

When the market is active, especially when a market session is opening or closing, you can usually find a trade within 45 minutes… but quite often within 30 minutes.

We have a special technique using "Market Cycles" that allows you to trade within certain times during a market open/close, and you can often sync your own trading preferences and availability to trade within these cycles so that you may only have a chart open for 10 minutes or less, and be able to find a trade, enter it, and exit with very little effort. The Market Cycles method is only available with the Logical Forex Premium Videos.

The charts sometimes don’t move, even though you are connected to your datafeed.

First, make sure that you really are connected to the datafeed.
