Another Great Friday Forex Scalp

Friday, February 17th, 2012

This entire week has been a non-stop work-a-thon. I haven’t even had a moment to think about trading until earlier today. It’s nice to know that forex scalping is available whenever I am ready and able to spend just a little dedicated time and focus.

It was the EURJPY that earlier caught my eye.

Here’s why:

Magnet Line

EURJPY MARKET STRUCTURE

After a HUGE move up, price was hovering around Magnet Lines that seemed rather significant based upon what had happened over the last several hours.

It was certainly cause for me to zoom in and take a closer look.

Flow flip, dance

Once I zoomed in, this is what I saw.

What goes up, must come down.

Let’s look at the Indicators:

  • Logical Forex Activity Lines – The lines are nearly boxes. It is just into the NY session, so I am confident in the liquidity.
  • Logical Forex News Alert – No news showing.
  • Logical Forex Flow Lines – There was a Flow Flip. Price came out of consolidation, and was flirting with a Magnet Line. The black Spine is fully revealed.
  • Logical Forex Phase – Just prior to the trade, there was a real divergence. This was cause for concern. Immediately prior to the trade, the Phase was tightly tracking along with price.
  • Logical Forex Bias – Solidly pointing downwards.
  • Logical Forex Magnet Lines – Price did a very sloppy dance around the first red Magnet Line. It then pierced the second larger Magnet Line with little dance. That caused me to wait for the pull back. Once price exceeded the recent low, the broker quote panel started to do its’ thing. That is a happy time.
  • Logical Forex Watchdog– It just started barking at the opportune time.

I entered as soon as price went below its’ recent low. Because of the apparent earlier divergence with the Phase, I decided to take a smaller lot trade. Still, it was worth my effort.

*** EURJPY Scalp Exit ***

Pull back, flow flip

EURJPY SCALP EXIT

Price stalled briefly at 104.45, but it never pulled back until it hit roughly 104.40. I decided to exit shortly thereafter.

You will notice that price did ultimately go down a bit further. Since I was out, the only reason I am even mentioning this is because I am drafting this post. Otherwise, emotionally, I have completely moved on. The reality is that after my exit, the ride was much more choppy. I do know traders that are ok with this, but I have since given up trading roller coasters a long time ago.

Overall, not bad for about 2 minutes of trading. Low stress, in and out quickly, minimal risk or exposure, and on with the rest of my day.

Scalping Forex Using Market Symmetry

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Today was a good day for the EURJPY. I am glad I got up early and sat down at my computer when I did!

I sure do love forex scalping!

Notice the nice symmetry with the flow of the market. Price was hovering around a very nice Magnet Line. I like what I see so far.

Once I zoomed in, this is what I saw.

Let’s look at the Indicators:

  • Logical Forex Activity Lines – The lines are nearly boxes. They are not super-wide for sure, but approaching the NY open was enough reason for me to look further.
  • Logical Forex News Alert – No news showing.
  • Logical Forex Flow Lines – The Flow Lines are coming out of consolidation, and separating nicely. Everything is the same color. The black Spine is fully revealed.
  • Logical Forex Phase – It is tracking along with price.
  • Logical Forex Bias – Starting to point downwards.
  • Logical Forex Magnet Lines – Price did a very tight dance around the red Magnet Line, then started to go through just as the broker quote panel started to become very active.
  • Logical Forex Watchdog– Barking to take a look.

As price started to tank on the broker quote panel, I entered my large-lot sell.

So, how did the trade turn out? Was I wise for entering when I did?

*** EURJPY Scalp Exit ***

Pull Back

EURJPY SCALP EXIT

Price continued falling. It did hesitate shortly, and I was very much ready to exit if price pulled back against me at all. I would have still exited with profits. However, price did continue down. I exited as price started to take back what was so nicely given to me.

Overall, this was a very nice pip trade. I could have held on even longer for more profits, but I could have also ended up many hundreds in the red, too. I prefer to go for the low-lying fruit – compounding my profits all the way. Leave the rest of the money for those who prefer more stress than I do.

If you have been reading my blog posts for a while, I really do hope that you are seeing similarities in my trades. There are many. In fact, many of the trades I take I can take my analysis of the Indicators and copy-paste much of it. Isn’t it comforting to know that certain things can be identified and then traded consistently? It sure is for me.

No Stress New York Session Open Forex Scalping

Monday, February 6th, 2012

Today, there were a few nice forex scalping trades just as the NY Session opened. Logical Forex, once again, made me happy with some net pips.

Notice how price is hanging out just above the red Magnet Line. Price was clearly at a decision point – and worth zooming in to inspect things more closely.

Let’s look at the Indicators:

  • Logical Forex Activity Lines – The lines are nearly boxes. They are not super-wide for sure, but going into the NY open was enough reason for me to look further.
  • Logical Forex News Alert – No news showing.
  • Logical Forex Flow Lines – The Flow Lines are coming out of consolidation, and separating nicely. Everything is the same color. The black Spine is fully revealed.
  • Logical Forex Phase – Most recently, it is tracking along with price.
  • Logical Forex Bias – Pointing downwards.
  • Logical Forex Magnet Lines – Price did a slight dance around the first red Magnet Line, then started to dance around the second one.
  • Logical Forex Watchdog – Barking to take a look.

Had I been sitting down at my computer, that first trade through the Magnet Line would have been nice to capture. Since I wasn’t actively watching the charts at that time watching the charts, the only focus I had was on what was happening now. Right now, price danced around the Magnet Line, went through, then did a nice pause.

I enter my SELL during the pause, prepared to exit quickly should price pop back up through the Magnet Line.

Price continued down for a little while, before it came back up, where I exit for a nice several pips on a large lot-size trade.

Notice how price continued down afterwards. I don’t care about missed pips, because I got my pips safely and with little stress. For anyone who wants to hold on longer, go for it. For me, I am happy.
